The progression and the way in which the different boys are corrupting the girl.
The use that the creator gives to the protagonist’s cell phone.
All the different and varied H scenes are great.
I recommend it 100% for those who enjoy the NTR.
Obviously it is not a game suitable for those who enjoy Disney-type games.

The art may not be the best and does vary from scenes.
BUT the writing is superb! !!
You get really attached to the female MC and get really absorbed in the slow corruption.
To spice things up you can, as a kind of oblivious voyeur, discover the female MCs expeditions with the various mens she’s with on the map as pixel art combined with the magnificent writing .
Sadly these are not viewable in the gallery collection. Only pixel art that have CGs attached are viewable.

Scars of summer is a nicely built game in the RPG maker scene. RPG maker games are fun to make I just bought the kit on steam a week ago. But on with the review the game stars Ryoka your childhood friend and Keita the guy you play as. On my first playthrough which is the main play through I just hung out with Ryoka. That was nice and relaxing. Honestly I don’t understand why they call this an NTR game because nothing ever pick up romantically between the two main protagonist. No adult scenes at all. Their are 4 activities they can do together they can go to the beach, play video games, play basketball and hang out at a coffee café. their are two other activities downtown karaoke and the movie theater. BUT ??? Ryoka WANT go downtown with Keita. Keita is the only person she want go downtown with or even have any Adult content with. When you see how quick she would get mature with the others and not Keita you see she never had that type of feelings for Keita. Keita lives with Ryoka in separate rooms. He never goes in her room and Ryoka never goes into his room. She want go in the shower or bath with him either Keita never seemed interested in Ryoka pass just hanging out. Get to the end of the good ending and its just NES style thanks for playing(you’ll have to play it to see). Just don’t talk to anyone work at the clothing store not the video store to make some money to buy games and hang out at the coffee café and you’ll get the good ending the game tells you that no spoiler. Now the bad endings. Their is a whole lot more work put in the bad endings than the good. The guys got Ryoka into Adult content rather easy that gives the clue that she been doing things like that before. If you know women like I know women their only easy if they like you. That means she always liked other men and not Keita. And Keita never tried anything mature with Ryoka. So their just friends. When keita catches Ryoka with another man he never even tries to stop her. Keita lines are weak as he would say I better not bother them I’ll leave or he would just watch like a peeping tung ( He didn’t cry he did something mature like looking at videos on your private time if you know what mean) And when he did confront them he would ask why are you sweaty and the other guy would talk bad to Keita and Ryoka wouldn’t stand up for Keita. But if you pay attention Keita when he put up an argument it was more like Ryoka this guy is just using you and I don’t want to see anything bad happen to you. Keita sound more like a friend trying to keep a friend from going down a bad path. When the stories where put together it turned out not to be NTR at all. I know NTR when I see It . All of North America is a real Life NTR state you can’t trust anyone here. In America NO one is with the original person they started their romance life with so being an North American I know NTR we created it. Scars of Summer is not NTR Keita is a good guy and Ryoka is a bad girl coming to light. And from the looks of it Keita Knew and that’s why he wouldn’t pursue Ryoka romantically. This is the evidence . Ryoka get in a stupid situations that seemed stupid from the beginning but she set it up her self because she wanted to do it. She agrees day one to web video herself with one guy and she starts doing mature scenes on a web site with this guy for no money she didn’t even say let me think about it. Keita get these videos on his phone he never says anything to her or try to perused her to stop Remember their staying in the same house in different rooms. She’s a bad girl anyway that’s why Keita doesn’t really care. Another clue she bet herself in a card game with a rich guy play it to the end and you’ll see she planned to loose she talks about how she would be able to live in the mansion with her children and with the rich guy and her friends again Keita is passive and don’t really care he just checks to see if she ok. After that Keita is never seen again because he moves. another clue she goes home with a homeless man that leaves downtown twice here age. Who goes to a tent with a broke homeless man? And her reason is that she’s lonely downtown. Remember she refuse to go downtown with Keita. She takes a class downtown in the evening but she states she’s lonely. Ok now listen she didn’t move downtown she just takes a class downtown. How do you get lonely going downtown for a few hours where you would get involved with a broke homeless man and get romantically involved with him in a week. But you leave with Keita and want go in his room and he want go in yours. Just do with Keita what your doing with the homeless man dah!! And again Keita catches her with him and he’s like I better not disturb them. Its just like he just don’t care. The situations Ryoka got herself in I was like she deserves it. The adult scenes was good but the story never added up or got spicy. If keita would have went Gorilla like a real man in love and Ryoka and keita would have had some sort of adult contact the story would have came together but all the stories really did was come off as hilarious . I was thinking that she can’t be this stupid to get herself in this dumb situation I admit it got too crazy to read so I skipped and scanned through most of the words laughing at how did we get here. And Keita he worked and made money but their really was nothing for him to spend money on , No ring .No flowers. no come away with me .no nothing just a few things for other people, a video game, and coffee café drinks. All in All the game is a good pick up and play I put about 10 hours in it reading the good story and bits and pieces of some of the bad. I figure you can speed through it in about 3 hours if you just want to see the adult content Unfortunately you cant unlock the adult scenes in one playthrough you have to reload after each playthrough to hunt the scenes down. I’m not a big fan of multi universe endings with all these endings its hard for the developer to keep the story on track and most of the RPG maker developers usually is one person to maybe 10 people working on it. Scars of summer is no different It suffers from inconsistency because of all these endings not to mention the game is on a 30 day maybe a little more time limit. the time limit really handicaps’ the game. The rich guy story could have been cut it was way out their in the what ??? huh ??? universe. Rich people don’t hang around lower class people maybe a weekend party but that’s it. Rich people travel a lot so that was out of place. And focus more on the story between Ryoka and Keita. It would have been cool to see Keita kick the door in on the village elder and go Gorilla on those 3 old men , drop kick the web guy and fight for Ryoka honor. But o well its done know. In the end I say pick it up its a dark game with a lot of potential for you to enjoy yourself whether you take your time or skip and hunt scenes its an average game for a good setting.
